12/7/2015 North Carolina's October County and Area Employment Figures Released
  RALEIGH — Unemployment rates (not seasonally adjusted) increased in 83 of North Carolina's counties in October, decreased in six, and remained unchanged in 11. Scotland and Graham Counties had the highest unemployment rates, each at 10.3 percent, while Buncombe County had the lowest at 4.1 percent. Fourteen of the state's metro areas experienced rate increases and one experienced a decrease. Among the Metro areas, Rocky Mount at 7.7 percent experienced the highest rate and Asheville had the lowest rate at 4.4 percent. 10/20/2015 North Carolina's September County and Area Employment Figures Released
  RALEIGH — The state's seasonally adjusted September unemployment rate was 5.8 percent, decreasing 0.1 of a percentage point from August's revised rate. The national rate remained unchanged at 5.1 percent. North Carolina's September 2015 unemployment rate was unchanged from a year ago. The number of people employed increased 3,670 over the month to 4,476,319 and increased 118,509 over the year. The number of people unemployed decreased 4,664 over the month to 276,072, and increased 7,090 over the year.  read more...
 
9/30/2015 North Carolina's August County and Area Employment Figures Released
  RALEIGH — Unemployment rates (not seasonally adjusted) decreased in 86 of North Carolina's counties in August, increased in four counties, and remained unchanged in 10 counties. Scotland County had the highest unemployment rate at 11.4 percent while Buncombe County had the lowest at 4.6 percent. Fourteen of the state's metro areas experienced rate decreases while one remained unchanged. Among the Metro areas, Rocky Mount at 8.8 percent experienced the highest rate and Asheville had the lowest rate at 4.8 percent.   RALEIGH — Unemployment rates (not seasonally adjusted) increased in 79 of North Carolina's counties in July, decreased in six counties, and remained unchanged in 15 counties. Graham and Scotland Counties each had the highest unemployment rate at 11.7 percent while Buncombe County had the lowest at 4.8 percent. All fifteen of the state's metro areas experienced rate increases. Among the Metro areas, Rocky Mount at 9.1 percent experienced the highest rate and Asheville had the lowest rate at 5.1 percent.
